SEOUL, April 1 (Yonhap) -- KG Mobility Corp. said Wednesday its sales rose 5.5 percent in March from a year earlier, driven by increased demand in the domestic market.
The company sold 10,004 vehicles last month, up from 9,483 units a year earlier, the company said in a press release. The figure includes complete knock-down (CKD) units.
Domestic sales surged 42.8 percent to 4,582 units from 3,208 a year earlier, while exports declined 13.6 percent to 5,422 from 6,275.
"Strong demand for the Musso sport utility vehicle (SUV) supported domestic sales. Cumulative orders for the Musso have exceeded 5,000 units since its launch in January," the company said.
In the January-March period, total sales increased 4.1 percent to 27,077 units from 26,009 a year earlier.
Domestic sales for the first quarter climbed 40.1 percent to 11,469 units from 8,184, while exports fell 12.4 percent to 15,608 from 17,825.
The SUV-focused carmaker's model lineup includes the Actyon mid-size SUV, the all-electric Torres EVX SUV and the Musso EV pickup.
