The iF Design Award, organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH, has been held annually since 1954 and evaluates entries based on criteria such as originality, impact and innovation.
Hyundai Motor Co. and its affiliate Kia Corp. received 21 and 11 awards, respectively, across eight categories, including product, professional concept, interior architecture, communication and user interface, the group said in a press release.
"The latest achievement reflects the distinct design philosophies and forward-looking vision of Hyundai, Genesis and Kia," a company official said. "We will continue to deliver new value and customer experiences through differentiated design."
In the product category, Kia's purpose-built vehicle PV5 received the prestigious Gold Award, which is granted to just 75 designs selected from around 10,000 entries worldwide.
The PV5 was recognized for its practical packaging, contrasting exterior design and flexible "open-box" interior concept, which allows reconfiguration for multiple uses, in line with Kia's "Opposites United" design philosophy.
Other product-category winners included Hyundai's Ioniq 6 N and Kia's EV4 and EV4 hatchback.
In the professional concept category, Hyundai's Furnished Lounge and Add Gear, along with Kia's PV5 WKNDR and EV2, were named winners.
Hyundai also received two awards in the communication design category for its short thriller film "Night Fishing," set at an electric vehicle charging station.
The iF Design Award is considered one of the world's top three design prizes, alongside the Red Dot Award and the International Design Excellence Award.
